The former Sofapaka goalkeeper made glaring errors against KCB

Vihiga Bullets head coach Abdallah Juma has confirmed that his experienced goalkeeper Richard Aimo will follow the proceedings between the club and record champions Gor Mahia from the substitutes bench.

Aimo was guilty of aiding KCB kiss the Bullets net twice last Sunday at Utalii grounds as the bankers comfortably won the duel 3-1 to stretch their winning streak to four successive games.

The former Sofapaka custodian paid for his sins as he was substituted at half time for Billy Bukhala who laid bare his intentions of playing regularly by pulling saves and constantly putting his body on the line to keep the score line respectable.

Juma who couldn’t hide his frustrations with Aimo’s awful performance said that the former Chemelil Sugar man will not be considered for selection when they face Gor in their next match.

I do not intend to make many changes in the second half team that played KCB. I will perhaps introduce a midfielder who carries the ball forward fast as that was one of our undoing. The goalkeeper who started against KCB will be rested for some weeks so as to regain confidence,” he said.

With Bullets still smarting on how win their first game in the league, Juma who took over from Evans Mafuta who threw in the towel a couple of weeks ago admitted that pressure was pilling on the technical bench’s shoulders.

Bullets were promoted to the league alongside FC Talanta with Kenya Police joining them later after prevailing in the playoff. While the other two clubs have at least won a match in the league, Bullets have been reduced to a punching bag, losing six and sharing spoils once. Despite the false start, Juma believes there is time to salvage the situation and retain their top flight status.

We have more than 20 rounds remaining to save ourselves. Of course going for seven matches without a win concerns me and my backroom staff but we will do everything possible to redeem ourselves and fight for survival,” he added.
