Nzoia Sugar have signed 22 new players
Attacking midfielder Victor Maliachi is pleased with the fact that he will play with his elder brothers; Evans and Kevin in the football Kenya Federation Premier League(FKFPL) after sealing a two-year long deal with Nzoia Sugar.
Maliachi joined the Bungoma based club from FKF Division One Zone B side Green Commandos.
Evans, a left back-cum wing back is attached to the 2009 league winners Sofapaka while Kevin joined FC Talanta from Nzoia last month.
Maliachi expressed confidence that he will thrive in the top division like his siblings who command years of experience in the competition.
“The fact that I will be playing at the highest level and against my brothers excites me. It is a challenge that I want to confront head on after testing myself in the second and third tiers,” he said.
Last year, the player told Mozzart Sport that he was pursuing a deal in Finland after signing with one of the renowned player agencies in the country.
However, that didn’t come to pass due to a number of issues including the mandatory travel documents.
“The deal fell through after failing obtain some documents on time. Hopefully I will do well in the FKFPL and secure better offers abroad,” said the former APS Bomet player.
Beside signing Maliachi, Nzoia have acquired 21 more players in a bid to plug the massive gaps left by players who sought greener pastures elsewhere.
The club lost last season’s top scorer Joseph Mwangi who joined Tusker alongside James Kibande.
Humphrey Katasi, Boniface Munyendo, Vincent Mahiga, Yasin Sije and Hassan Beja left the club for AFC Leopards while Kevin Juma joined record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.
Nzoia further lost coach Salim Babu who joined Kenya Police as an assistant to Francis Baraza.
