A former Manchester United coach signs an awkward deal with the Dutch side Telstar
Louis van Gaal is returning from retirement. One of the most respected Dutch experts of all time has decided to become active after a four-and-a-half-year break by leading Telstar next season.
Telstar's idea is that the 70-year-old coach sits on the bench for only one game and thus gets the local audience's attention and invites it to participate in the big lottery, whose income goes to charity. It is envisaged that on that occasion, the winner of the lottery will be promoted to Van Gaal's assistant for a match that will be determined later.
Louis van Gaal started his coaching career in 1991 on the Ajax bench. He also led Barcelona (two terms), AZ Alkmaar Bayern and Manchester United, and was twice the coach of the Netherlands. He won 20 trophies at the club level, while he was third at the national team with Oranje at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
