The Slum Boys sit second from bottom on the log with 16 games to go to the end of the season.
The alarm bells continue to sound louder for Mathare United but defender Kennedy Ochieng is confident they can survive relegation this season.
The Slum Boys are flirting with relegation as they sit second from bottom with 10 points from 17 games and are six points from safety.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ochieng was less worried about suffering relegation noting all they need to do is tighten their defense.
“In every game, we always have to be positive but I believe we will beat relegation by just looking at how people train and the renewed spirits.
We just need to work on our defense because we have conceded a lot and to be a good team you have to defend well and that is what the coach has been working on,” said Ochieng.
Mathare United picked up their 14th loss of the season after going down 3-1 to Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday with newly installed head coach John Kamau suffering his first loss.
Ochieng admitted that the game against Homeboyz was a blow but lauded the new signings made at the club who were mostly drawn from the National Super League (NSL).

“It was not a good game for us especially after the training sessions we had which were good but if you get a result like that it's not a good thing.
We had new faces in the team who played against Homeboyz and they played well its just the game was tough but I can say that they are very promising,” added Ochieng.
