Tottenham defender has been ruled out for the remainder of the current Premier League campaign
Tottenham Hotspur full-back Destiny Udogie has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on a muscular injury.
Udogie sustained the injury to his left quadriceps in training this week, the club confirmed.
Before the injury, the 21-year-old full-back missed only two games due to injury and two due to suspension this season.
Udogie had started and played 90 minutes in their previous seven league matches, including last Saturday's 4-0 loss at Newcastle United.
"The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord," Udogie posted on Saturday, alongside pictures of himself in a hospital bed.
"An injury brings my season to an early end. It doesn't take away from how grateful I am to every person that has supported me this year."
Tottenham are back in action on April 28 when they host rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.
