A group of supporters reached the inside of the stadium and the turf itself ahead of the Premier League clash with Liverpool
The Manchester United - Liverpool derby has been postponed indefinitely, and it won't be played today due to consequences of the previous fans' pitch invasion, the Premier League officially announced.
The club itself issued the following statement:
"Following discussion between the Police, The Premier League, Trafford Council and the clubs, our match against Liverpool has been postponed due to safety and security considerations around the protest today. Discussions will now take place with the Premier League on a revised date for the fixture.
Our fans are passionate about Manchester United, and we completely acknowledge the right to free expression and peaceful protest.
However, we regret the disruption to the team and actions which put other fans, staff, and the police in danger. We thank the police for their support and will assist them in any subsequent investigations."

On the other end, Liverpool Football Club stated that they were "in full agreement with the decision to postpone today’s fixture as a result of ongoing events at Old Trafford and the surrounding area".
"It is our position that public safety must be the number one factor in any such decision, with the ability to provide a secure environment for the participants, staff and officials being a particular priority.
"It was clearly not possible for this to be guaranteed today due to a situation which escalated rapidly.
"We will continue to have dialogue with Manchester United, the Premier League and the local authorities to find a suitable date to reschedule.
"As soon as we have this information we will update our supporters accordingly."
Previouslu, a couple of hundred of Manchester United's fans invaded Old Trafford pitch, demanding the Glazer family, the club's owners, to leave immediately.

The anti-Glazer movement has gained momentum in recent weeks following the club's failed attempt to form part of a breakaway European Super League last month. The American Glazer family bought the club for 1.1 billion dollars in 2005.

The United legend Gary Neville thinks that Glazers should understand what fans are saying and - leave the club.
"There's huge discontent, not just across Manchester United fans, but I think for football fans up and down the country and I think they are just saying enough is enough.
"The Glazer family have been resilient and stubborn for many, many years. I think they are struggling to meet the financial demands that this club needs and have done for some time."
His former teammate Roy Keane said on the protests:
"It has reached a tipping point for the #MUFC fans. They have had enough. United have got some of the best fans in the world. We have seen today that they are thinking enough is enough with the ownership of the club."

Sky Sports reporter James Cooper states that there are hundreds, perhaps two or 3,000 United fans outside of Old Trafford right now.
"Тhey are making their feelings pretty clear and I don't think they're going anywhere. Their intention is to make sure that this game isn't played, and I'm told the match referee was initially turned away from one of the entrances."
