Potential offer of 384 million KSH per year
Now that he is in his best years for the striker, Diego Costa (32) is sitting at home and has no club.
The former Spanish national team player parted ways with Atletico Madrid, returned to his native Brazil, allegedly due to private problems, and now he is there waiting for offers to continue his career.
He can no longer go to Spain, because he signed such termination of the deal with Atletico, except to play for a team from the lower part of the table, he does not want to go to the Middle or Far East, nor does he want to play in Brazil, as per Goal.com.
Diego Costa was waiting for the right kind of an offer, because he wants to return to Europe, to show, like Luis Suarez, that although others wrote him off, he is not for scrap metal and it seems that he welcomed such an opportunity. Goal.com writes that Benfica desperately needs help so they contacted Diego Costa with the desire to hire him for the next season.
The offer is 3.5 million USD immediately for the signing of the contract and 3.5 million USD per year, and the biggest dilemma is whether the Brazilian Spaniard would sign for two or three years. Quite a tempting option, although the Lisbon Eagles are playing well below expectations this season and will have to do their best to win a place in the Champions League for next season.
Costa has not yet responded to the offer from Portugal. Football in that country is not unknown to him, as a boy he came to Braga and from there he moved on to play for a number of clubs - biggest career moves being his first staying in Atletico Madrid and three years in London with Chelsea - he won the league titles with both teams.
