Ulinzi Stars head coach Danson Nyaudo has voiced dissatisfaction with his players' laxity following the loss to FC Talanta.

The Soldiers suffered their third defeat of the season, losing 1-0 against Talanta in one of Wednesday's doubleheaders at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The result ended Ulinzi's five-match unbeaten streak spanning a month, following a rough start to the season.

As a result, the four-time FKF Premier League champions drop four places to 12th with ten points.

"I believe my players expected an easy task because we were on a terrific run and Talanta were coming off a bad skid, but after our opponents scored, we became jittery.

Despite coming back stronger in the second half, we were unable to convert our chances into goals, which I believe contributed to the defeat," Nyaudo told Mozzart Sport.

The seasoned tactician praised the Talanta players' resolve to win the contest, terming them the hungrier side.

Prior to Wednesday's victory, the Jackline Juma-coached team had gone six matches without a win.

"I believe since Talanta had not won in such a long run they were the hungrier side, and when they scored they defended so well, and I must give them credit for their deserved victory," continued the coach.

Nyaudo also voiced his thoughts on the goal they conceded and regretted a costly error in the first half, which led to the defeat.

A defensive lapse provided Clinton Machaka with an excellent opportunity to score the game's only goal.

"We made a punishable error in the first half that turned around the outcome of the match despite creating numerous opportunities; nonetheless, we dust ourselves and aim to bounce back on Sunday," said Nyaudo.

Ulinzi will next face 2008 champions Mathare United on Sunday 1 December at Kioru Stadium.
