Wadri leaves Bandari after close to six years with the club.
Bandari FC's midfield maestro, William Wadri, has bid farewell to the Mombasa-based FKF Premier League club, concluding a remarkable six-year journey with the team.
The dynamic attacking midfielder, who played a pivotal role under the leadership of a number of coaches since his arrival in February 2018, officially departs as his contract reached its conclusion on a Sunday evening.
In an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport, Wadri shared the news of his departure, revealing that he is now a free agent after the expiration of his contract on December 31st. The charismatic dreadlocked midfielder expressed his sentiments, stating, "I have left Bandari; my contract with the club expired on 31st December, and I am now a free agent."
Wadri elaborated on the circumstances surrounding his exit, disclosing that renewal talks with the club had broken down. Despite his desire to continue donning the Bandari jersey, the negotiations failed to reach a consensus on crucial aspects, leading to his departure. Undeterred, he conveyed his readiness to explore opportunities with other local clubs eager to enlist his services.
"I would have wished to continue at the club, but the renewal talks did not yield any fruits as we could not agree on some key components, and I now leave. I am now open to offers from clubs interested in my services. I still have a lot to offer in the game and am open to joining a side that we will agree on terms with," Wadri expressed.W
Graciously acknowledging his time with Bandari, Wadri extended his gratitude to his now-former employer, remarking, "To Bandari, I wish to thank them for the opportunity they accorded me during my time there and wish them well for the future."
The departure of Wadri is not the only significant change looming for Bandari FC, as winger Joe Waithira is also expected to part ways with the club following the expiration of his contract.
The club is set to undergo a transition, releasing around six players while bringing in an equal number of new faces. Among the potential recruits are Bidco United winger Shariff Musa and Tusker FC right-back Daniel Sakari, both of whom are being closely eyed by the management.
