Robert Matano's charges will spend at least 24 hours at the summit awaiting Gor Mahia's clash with arch-rival AFC Leopards
Tusker FC beat Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match played at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday afternoon to go top of the standings.
The win pushed the Brewers to 64 points, one more than Gor Mahia who take on AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji Derby on Sunday.
However, the Brewers had to play the final 10 minutes with a man less after David Odoyo was given his marching orders for a second bookable offense.
Deogratious Ojok scored the all-important goal in the second minute of the game, sliding on to a low cross by Levin Odhiambo to slot home the winner early.
At Muhoroni Stadium, Wazito FC beat Posta Rangers 2-1 to move out of the automatic drop zone and into the relegation-promotion spot at the expense of Mathare United.
Robert Onyango and Felix Ochieng scored on either end of the second half as Lewis Shivachi got the consolation for the Mailmen.
Vihiga Bullets became the first team in the top tier to get relegated after falling by a solitary goal to FC Talanta.
Brian Yakhama scored Talanta's only goal to send Bullets to the National Super League.
