Newly installed Tusker FC head coach Julien Mette refused to be carried away after registering his first win in charge, warning that a 1-0 victory over Murang'a Seal does not suddenly mean his side has turned a corner.

Ibrahim Joshua’s first-half header proved decisive at Wang'uru Stadium, ending the Brewers’ three-match winless run and handing Mette a timely boost just a week into his tenure.
But while the result lifted the Brewers to 31 points and into seventh place, the French tactician insisted the performance must be assessed with balance.
“It’s not because we have won that we can say we are now better than we were on Saturday when we had a very good game,” Mette said after the match.
“That’s football. You cannot predict the end result. In the second half, we really suffered, but we maintained our composure, stayed organised and got the win with a clean sheet.”

Tusker began with energy and attacking purpose. Erick Kapaito threatened early with a header that drifted over, while Eugen Ikutwa narrowly missed the target after being picked out by Stephen Etyang.
The breakthrough arrived in the 26th minute when Etyang’s lofted delivery found Joshua, who guided his header beyond Erick Ongiri to give the Brewers control.
The opening half belonged largely to Tusker, who created further chances through Charles Momanyi and David Polepole but failed to extend their advantage. That inability to kill the game off nearly proved costly after the restart.
Murang’a Seal returned from the break with renewed intensity. Joseph Waithera’s pace unsettled the Tusker backline, Osama Ochieng combined well in advanced areas, and Thadeus Kiach tested the visitors with efforts from range.
Goalkeeper Brandon Obiero was forced into key saves as Seal dominated long spells of the second half.
Tusker, beaten recently by Mathare United and Shabana FC, had to rely on defensive organisation and discipline rather than fluid attacking play.
They absorbed pressure, managed the tempo and held firm through a tense finale to secure the clean sheet Mette highlighted.
Up next for the Brewers is a game against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday.
