The former Sharks player ditched the Tanzanian outfit hardly five months after joining

Immediate former Biashara United combative midfielder Shaphan Oyugi is likely to join Kenyan champions Tusker after unceremoniously severing ties with the Tanzanian Premier League outfit.

Oyugi was among the contingent of Kenyan players who were lured by former Gor Mahia assistant coach Patrick Odhiambo to ditch local clubs for the Tanzanian outfit but hardly months after crossing the border, the grass has proved not be as green as anticipated.

Biashara who represented Tanzania in the CAF Confederation Cup by virtue of finishing inside the top four bracket last season injected fresh blood from Kenya but their dried purses are understood to be the cause of the player exodus.

Two weeks ago, Odhiambo and his assistant Marwa Chamberi skipped their league duel against record champions Yanga in protest for a number of unkept promises and unresolved issues.

Sources close to Oyugi intimated that he had attended training sessions for some time and had already penned a pre-contract with the club.

Tusker who were active in the last transfer window are understood to have returned to the market after Teddy Osok suffered what appeared to be long term injury in their 1-0 win over Nzoia Sugar late last year.

When reached for the comment, the former Kariobangi Sharks man disclosed that he had cut ties with Biashara United and was in hunt for a local club. He however remained tight-lipped on the said advances from the brewers.

"I can confirm that I left Biashara United few weeks ago after we failed to agree on some issues. Life was getting unbearable in Tanzania and I ended up terminating my contract. I have offers from Kenyan clubs and I will settle for the best soon," he said.

The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee announced that the transfer window will run between January 9 to February 5.
