The Senegalese forward is struggling to find his place in the Munich slot, and it seems things won't get better any time soon...

He arrived as a superstar from Liverpool, but after just one season, Sadio Mane could leave Bayern Munich.

The Senegalese forward, at first, found it challenging to meet Julian Nagelsmann's expectations, and then there was an injury that caused him to miss the World Cup in Qatar, and later a conflict with his teammate Leroy Sane.

The new manager, Thomas Tuchel, supported Mane, but on the eve of the new season, he told the 31-year-old that it would be wiser to look for another club.

"He did not meet expectations. The competition here is very strong, and his starting position is not good. He knows it himself. He knows mine, as well as the club's opinion," Tuchel said at the press conference on Saturday, at the start of pre-season.

Mane's contract with Bayern lasts until 2025, he wants to stay, but...

"He has a contract and wants to stay. We respect that, but it's only the first day of training, and a lot can still change. That's how it is in football..." Tuchel added.

As a reminder, the former Liverpool forward scored 12 goals and had six assists in 38 appearances for the Bavarians. In the Champions League, for which he was mainly brought, he was productive only in the group stage (three goals).
