Trouble in paradise? Vini rejects Real's extension proposal

This Brazilian's move caught the eye of two Premier League clubs and Paris Saint-Germain

Vinicius Junior has been the main topic in the football world for some time now, thanks to the conundrum and, eventually, the scandal surrounding the Ballon d'Or. The Brazilian's failed hopes of winning the prestigious award and Real Madrid's consequent decision to boycott the ceremony launched Vini to the centre of the attention of the media all around the globe.

And while the "Ballon d'Or affair" slowly but surely stays in the past, another Vinicius' unforeseen move could keep him "under the spotlight" for some time more. Namely, according to the Spanish Relevo, the forward rejected Real's offer regarding the contract extension talks.

Even though Vini's deal with Los Blancos expires only in 2027, the information of his decision ignited the fire among several European clubs, giving them a ray of hope that they could snatch the Brazilian's signature. Relevo mentions two Premier League sides, Man United and Chelsea, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, which see a perfect opportunity to get revenge on Real for "stealing" Kylian Mbappe.

Apart from the European trio, the Saudi clubs are still in the mix. After all, Al-Ahli were the only interested party to actually make a move for Vinicius, but their vast bid worth €200 million was rejected, even though they tried to lure the 24-year-old by offering him a salary of €1 billion.

Although June 2027 seems far away, Real are thinking long-term, having learned from PSG's experience in the case of Mbappe, who ultimately left Parc des Princes as a free agent. Los Blancos had already taken steps to prevent such a scenario by including the release clause of €1 billion into Vini's previous deal. Still, if the extension talks definitely fall through, even that won't be enough.
