Kapaito, Alushula and Kuol have all been ruled out of the game against Simba wa Nairobi.

Kariobangi Sharks has been dealt a massive blow ahead of Saturday's league match against Nairobi City Stars after three of its players were ruled out of action with injuries.

Lead striker Erick Kapaito, John Kuol, and Fredrick Alushula have all been ruled out of the match against the Kawangware based side that will be played at the Utalii grounds starting from 3pm.

Alushula picked up an injury against Kakamega Homeboyz two weeks ago and was subsequently sidelined for a fortnight meaning the earliest he could return to action is the following week. It is however not clear why Kapaito and Kuol will sit out of the game.

“Players ruled out of the Nairobi City Stars clash. Erick Kapaito Kuol Chol Fredrick Alushula,” the club tweeted on Saturday morning.

Kapaito’s absence in particular is a massive blow for coach William Muluya. Despite not finding the back of the net in the last four league matches, he remains their biggest attacking threat as he has scored 14 of their 25 league goals so far this season and his absence will most likely be felt at Utalii Grounds.

Ahead of the match, Sharks captain Eric Juma says the target is to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Ulinzi Stars in Narok.

We have had sufficient rest and time to reflect on where we got it wrong last weekend. We played well but failed to walk home with the three points as we were not sharp enough in the final third. We also conceded easy goals. We have worked on our weak areas and we are looking forward to a win,” he said.
