Tough luck for Marcelo as AIK go down fighting

Harambee Stars left back Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma’s hopes of capping his birthday with a win were dashed after AIK fell 2-1 to Degerfors at the Stora Valla Stadium. Marcelo turned a year older on Monday and would have certainly wished to guide his side to joint top of the Swedish top flight but were stunned by Degerfors who prior to the match had lost four consecutive matches.

Marcelo who clocked full time was also unfortunate to be cautioned in the 85th minute. The hosts took the lead barely two minutes into the game through Victor Edvardsen after Abdelrahman Saidi put him through.

Edvardsen would seal his brace after finding the back of the net in the 66th minute, finishing off from Oliver Ekroth’s assist. AIK grabbed their consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game through Nabil Bahoui.

Bruce Kamau

The winger was overlooked in their one all draw away to PAS Giannina at the Zosimades Stadium on Monday evening. Kamau joined OFI in July from Australian Club Western Sydney Wanderers.

OFI took the lead in the 12th minute through Juan Angel but Nicolae Milinceanu equalized for the hosts in the 22nd minute.

Hashim Ali

The Mombasa-born midfielder lasted on the pitch for 82 minutes as his side Al Rayyan played Al Khor to a 2-2 draw at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium.

Rayyan found themselves trailing in the opening minute of the game when Ismail El Haddad plundered home the opener for Khor. However, they levelled matter through Yohan Mady in the 20th minute only to concede the second goal ten minutes later as Said Brahmi scored for Khor.

Algerian international Yacine Brahimi saved Rayyan’s face as he restored parity in the in the 57th minute.

Meanwhile Stars forward Elvis Rupia is expected to be in action when Bisha FC play Al Nahdha this evening in a Saudi Arabian division one league match at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium.
