Tottenham has a lot to change for next season — and it looks like they’re already getting started

Bayern Munich has been working hard behind the scenes to secure the futures of their top talents, but talks with Leroy Sane over a new contract have hit a standstill. Negotiations have been ongoing since early 2025, yet the two sides remain far apart on terms.

According to Sky Sports, Sane’s new agent, the influential Pini Zahavi, has already started exploring options elsewhere and has reportedly offered his client to several clubs—Tottenham Hotspur among them.

Sane’s decision to appoint Zahavi in May 2025 raised eyebrows and was widely interpreted as a sign that the winger is preparing to move on. Zahavi, known for engineering blockbuster transfers, quickly sprang into action. Bayern’s most recent proposal—10 million euros annually plus an additional 5 millions in performance-based bonuses—was turned down by the 29-year-old, further fueling speculation of an impending exit.

Tottenham has yet to respond formally to the opportunity, but if Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund fails to secure a renewal, the club will have a major void to fill on the flanks. Bayern is not waiting idly. The German champions are already eyeing replacements in the Premier League, with Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo emerging as primary targets.

Mitoma’s situation is complicated, however, as Arsenal is also keen on the Japanese winger. Gakpo, meanwhile, remains tied to Liverpool until 2028, which could make negotiations more difficult. Still, Bayern appears to be bracing for Sane’s departure—and moving quickly to plan for life without him.
