Torrid night for Barca as Galata earn a deserved goalless draw at Camp Nou

Xavi's team dominated the game, but failed to create clear cut chances, let alone score a goal against the Turkish greats

Amid that perfect return to the top in terms of both results and performances, Xavi's Barca suffered an unpleasant goalless draw at Camp Nou against Galatasaray in the UEFA Europa League round of 16.

Two Frenkie de Jong's close-range failures in the second half, followed by Jordi Alba's narrow miss, were the only Blaugrana's efforts worth mentioning during the entire 90 minutes.

On the other end, Bafetimbi Gomis stunned the home crowd, but his smooth opener was voided due to an offside.

We witnessed a rather dull match between those moments, as the favourites failed to impose their recognizable style, while the visitors were more than happy to see the fixture heading to a draw.

The happiness on the faces as the referee whistled for the end was evident proof they completed the Camp Nou mission just as planned.

On the contrary, the Blaugrana are disappointed to see Inaki Pena's clean sheet, as Barca's academy offspring on loan at Galatasaray enjoyed a fruitful game at his 'home'.
