Galatasaray defender Ryan Donk was singled out by the club president for… questionable lifestyle
When things go wrong at any football club, the public is usually given a glimpse of some dirty laundry. But every now and then, matters get really bad, at a really big club and proverbial laundry becomes so dirty that you wonder can it ever get clean.
A poor run of results by Istanbul-based Galatasaray SK is shaking the club to its foundations. And when a club of such profile is in trouble – you will hear about it. President Mustafa Cengiz was so annoyed by the club’s recent form that he couldn’t keep quiet no longer. He told the Milliyet daily that he’s disappointed with the players’ unprofessional behaviour. The biggest culprit, according to Cengiz, is Dutch defender Ryan Donk.
"We are sick and tired of Donk's sex parties. Footballers don’t train properly. They party at night and they are tired when they come to training in the morning... They don’t train well. They perform elsewhere. The players only want to have fun."

Galatasaray are currently third in the table, behind their fierce city rivals Besiktas and Fenerbahce. Being third in the table for such a well-supported club is somewhat of a tragedy in the eyes most supporters, a reason to question the board, the coaches and the players. It’s enough to send the fanatical ultras into frenzy.

He’s playing for a high-profile club in a predominantly Muslim country, albeit in the big city. Indulging in a sinner’s lifestyle and failing to deliver the goods on the pitch is a recipe for disaster.
