Just a Sergio Ramos left Real Madrid after 16 years, it is the same with Tomori who joined Chelsea as an under-eight

Canadian-born, English defender of Nigerian parents - Oluwafikayomi Oluwadamilola "Fikayo" Tomori has left the Blues of London.

Rossoneri took Tomori on loan last season and were blown away by the defender. He spent six months at the San Siro before completing a permanent deal from Chelsea to AC Milan on a four-year deal for a fee of almost 35 million USD.

Frank Lampard allowed Tomori to leave before the arrival of Thomas Tuchel to Stamford Bridge in late January.

Tomori joined the club’s academy as an under 8 so this transfer brings to an end a 16-year association with the Blues for centre back.

Before his loan in Milan, he was also on loan at Derby County in 2018/19 where he played under Lampard. The following season, he established himself as a first team player at the Bridge and made 15 appearances in the English top-tier.

Tomori lost his spot under Lampard in 2020/21 season and it became more of a struggle - he made only four appearances in the first six months of the campaign. He was then allowed to leave and join the Italian powerhouse.

Englishman made 22 appearances in the red and black of Milan and managed to impress manager Stefano Pioli as well as Rossoneri fans. It resulted in the Serie A side deciding to bring him to the club permanently.

He played a key role for Milan as they secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the Serie A season. Another big achievement for him was when he netted his first Serie A goal in a 3-0 win at Juventus earlier this month, having replaced the then injured Simon Kjaer to get his chance.
