Ingwe and Police remain winless this campaign.
Kenya Police FC scored a stoppage-time goal to earn a share of the spoils against the AFC Leopards in a 2-2 draw at the Moi Kasarani Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Both tacticians, Francis Baraza for Police and Tom Juma for Ingwe, went into the game with a lot of pressure and needed to pick up maximum points. In their opening three games of the season, both teams had managed two draws and a defeat and needed to end their wait for their first triumphs of the season.
The police got off to a dream start, taking the lead in the third minute through Kenneth Muguna, who nodded home off a Clinton Kinanga assist. The advantage lasted for 11 minutes before Brian Yakhama not only scored his first goal for Ingwe but also the club’s first of the season after three failed attempts. Clifton Miheso claimed the assist against his immediate former employers. The first half ended level.
14 minutes into the second stanza, the Leopards went ahead from the penalty spot. Cliff Nyakeya was fouled inside the area, and a spot kick was subsequently awarded, from which the winger beat Patrick Matasi to hand the Leopards the advantage. Just as Leopards thought they had bagged maximum points, South Sudanese defender Rashid Toha ruined their party with a stoppage time strike for the law enforcers.
In Homabay, Shabana FC conceded a stoppage-time goal to lose 1-0 to Kariobangi Sharks FC. The Glamour Boys had conceded late goals against Murang’a Seal, FC Talanta, and Kenya Police FC, and on Saturday, Geoffrey Onyango's strike in added time earned the Sharks all three points.
At the Kasarani Annex, Bidco United came from a goal down to beat FC Talanta 3-1 courtesy of a brace from substitute Ezekiel Okare. Erick Ombija handed Talanta the lead in the 6th minute before Francis Oduor leveled the matters 30 minutes later. Okare got the first of his double in the 67th minute before adding the second in the 84th.
