The 2021 USL season is set to kick off in April
If the video from Union Omaha’s official Twitter page is anything to go by, then Kenyan international Tobias Otieno is a man who cannot wait to kick start the new campaign scheduled to start later on in April. Otieno plies his trade in the United Soccer League League One (USLL1) with Union Omaha. USL League One is a professional men's soccer league in the United States and Canada that began its inaugural season in 2019.

Omaha only made their debut in the USL last year and managed to finish in an outstanding second place just six points behind champions Greenville Triumph. Ahead of the new season, the youngster took to social media to express his gratitude to the club’s fans for their support and to give them hope of going one better in the upcoming campaign.
”I just wanted to thank all of you guys at Omaha for making our inaugural season be the best. We made it despite all the challenges we faced. Expect the best from us next season,” he said confidently.
Last season, the former Sony Sugar player started a total of five matches, accumulating a total of 440 minutes under his belt.
The 22 year old defensive midfielder joined Omaha on 14 January 2020 from Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Gor Mahia and went ahead to make his debut on 30 September 2020, starting in a 3–2 win away to Fort Lauderdale CF. During his days at Gor, Otieno featured both in the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup.
Union Omaha are set to start their 2021 campaign against South Georgia Tormenta FC who finished in eigth place last season.
