Time for change? Lazio handed Juventus yet another downfall

Igor Tudor’s side is in dreadful form, and last night’s 1–0 defeat against Lazio in Rome was yet another confirmation of their struggles
Many football fans have completely forgotten about the player with 74 appearances for Lazio, who in the last two seasons played only nine minutes in the sky-blue shirt — Toma Basic.
With Maurizio Sarri’s return to the Eternal City, Basic finally got his chance.
He had already provided an assist in the thrilling draw against Torino a few weeks ago, and last night he stunned Juventus at the Olimpico with a spectacular goal, securing Lazio’s third Serie A win of the season — 1–0 (1–0).

The scorer of the only goal on the night, seriously shook the position of his compatriot Igor Tudor, as Juventus extended their winless streak to eight matches, suffering a third consecutive defeat without scoring, after losses to Como (0–2) and Real Madrid (0–1).
The Turin giants made incredible errors in the first half, with a series of poor passes from the back line, and one of them was ruthlessly punished by the Croatian midfielder.
After receiving the ball from Danilo Cataldi ,following a shocking mistake by Jonathan David, Basic unleashed a powerful shot from about 18–19 meters in the ninth minute, beating Mattia Perin. The goal is HERE!

Juventus looked noticeably drained after their trip to the Santiago Bernabeu — they threatened occasionally but also committed defensive lapses that gave the hosts chances to double the lead.
For Basic, this was his third career goal for Lazio, and his first since May 3, 2023, when he scored in a 2–0 win over Sassuolo.
The visitors have reason to regret a key moment in the 34th minute, when Ivan Provedel made an excellent save to deny Jonathan David.
They also appealed for a penalty on the hour mark after Francisco Conceicao appeared to be tripped in the box, while their last serious chance came through Jefren Thuram, but Provedel again came up big.

On the other side, Lazio had several chances on the counterattack. Gustav Isaksen was often involved in the final third but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Juventus remain in a disappointing eighth place with 12 points — six behind Napoli and Roma — while Lazio climbed to 10th, just one point behind.
