Timbe misses again as Buriram claim victory in Thailand

Eight games into the Thai Premier League season and Ayub Timbe is yet to feature a single minute for Buriram United as he again missed their 2-0 win over Lamphun Warrior.

The 30-year-old last featured for Buriram in the 4-0 win over Prachuap in the Thai League Cup final last season as he claimed the treble with his club.

The club is yet to provide an update on why Timbe has been missing their matchday squads but the winger took to his social media to post a cryptic message on Monday 26 September.

“The journey is less difficult when we find meaning in the struggle,” posted Timbe on his Facebook page.

The first half of the encounter against Lamphun had little to write home about, bar the caution shown to Buriram midfielder Frank Castaneda inside the opening four minutes.

In the second half, the game finally sprung into life in the 62nd minute when Jonathan Bolingi broke the deadlock for Buriram after Narubodin Weerawatnodom put the ball on a plate for him.

Weerawatnodom was a constant menace for Lamphun as he again set up Goran Causic for his sixth goal of the season in eight matches.

Buriram held on for the 2-0 victory as they reclaimed top spot in the league with 20 points in eight games.
