Three real chances and three Liverpool goals for a place in FA Cup quarter-finals

Unlike the match three days ago, Liverpool showed a much better performance and defeated Wolverhampton 3–1
Having learned from the shocking defeat to Wolverhampton just three days ago, Liverpool approached this FA Cup match with caution, and it paid off. Scoring just enough, the Reds secured victory with three goals. To end the tie properly, the home team managed to find a late goal, slightly reducing the deficit to 3–1.
Liverpool looked the more active team early on and nearly produced a spectacular moment in the 6th minute. Cody Gakpo met a cross from the left with a header that struck the post, but the chance would not have counted anyway as the offside flag had already been raised.
Wolves managed to create a rare opportunity of their own in the 11th minute. After play continued despite a foul appeal involving Curtis Jones and Santiago Bueno, Ngumoha showed quick footwork to carve out space for a shot, but Sam Johnstone reacted well to make the save.
The Reds continued to push forward but struggled to find space against a compact Wolves defense. In the 30th minute, Gravenberch received a precise pass near the edge of the penalty area and struck a solid effort toward goal, but the ball narrowly missed the left post.
Liverpool’s best chance arrived shortly before halftime from a set piece. In the 41st minute, Szoboszlai’s free kick was blocked, with the rebound falling to Gravenberch, who fired a quick shot, only to see it go straight into the arms of the Wolves goalkeeper.
Liverpool stepped up their performance in the second half and quickly took control of the match, scoring three goals to secure a convincing victory.
The breakthrough came in the 51st minute when Andy Robertson put the visitors ahead. The move started with a nice combination between Salah and Curtis Jones, after which the ball reached the Scottish full-back. Robertson unleashed a powerful and precise strike that beat the Wolves goalkeeper and gave Liverpool a 1–0 lead.
Just two minutes later, the Reds doubled their advantage. Immediately after the restart, Liverpool attacked down the wing and Robertson, the scorer of the first goal, delivered a dangerous ball into the six-yard box. Salah was in the perfect position and had the easy task of finishing from close range, firing the ball into the net for 2–0.
Wolves attempted to respond in the 57th minute when Bellegarde tried his luck from about 25 meters. However, his effort lacked power and precision, making it a comfortable save for Alisson.
Liverpool sealed the win in the 74th minute with their third goal of the night. Curtis Jones created the opportunity himself, carrying the ball forward before finding space to shoot from around 18 meters. His accurate strike left the Wolves goalkeeper with no chance and extended Liverpool’s lead to 3–0.
Wolverhampton finally managed to score, and in spectacular fashion, as the home goalkeeper inadvertently set up the chance, allowing Hwang to make a brilliant run toward goal and beat Alisson for 3–1.
