After four years in his homeland, the Brazilian could make a jaw-dropping move and join the little-known Pafos FC
During the past decade, David Luiz was one of the most esteemed centre-backs in the world. After arriving in Europe from his homeland, the Brazilian played for some genuine giants like Benfica, Chelsea (in two spells), Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal.
However, when he decided to leave the North London side and return home, joining Flamengo in 2021, many thought he made that move so that he could end his career in Brazil. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old has obviously tricked everyone!
After spending the previous season at Fortaleza, the defender is on the verge to returning to Europe, the Brazilian Globo reports. And he has allegedly chosen a shocking destination - Cyprus!
As the renowned paper claims, Luiz could soon join the Cypriot champions Pafos - the club that raises the bar higher day by day and develops rapidly.

A situação será debatida nos próximos dias, mas a tendência é que o zagueiro de 38 anos deixe o Leão do Pici.
O jogador tem contrato até o fim de 2026, com opção de renovação até o fim de 2027.

Last season, they won their maiden Cypriot First Division title and participated in the main stage of a European competition for the first time in their history. But they weren't just mere spectators.
On the contrary, they reached the UEFA Conference League Round of 16, where they were eliminated by the future semi-finalists, the Swedish Djurgarden, 3-1 on aggregate, but they didn't embarrass themselves, and now they want to take a step forward.
Luiz's deal with Fortaleza expires at the end of 2025, though Fortaleza would probably agree to terminate the contract and let the player go.
Should he eventually join Pafos, he'd become by far the greatest name to have ever played in Cypriot football. If anything, he'd have a nice company at Stelios Kyriakides Stadium, as Pafos have four Brazilians in their squad.
