This time it's really over: eight years and seven loans later, Baba leaves Blues

Abdul Rahman Baba, 29, made only 15 appearances for Chelsea since coming to Stamford Bridge in 2015. He's going to Greece

It was never meant for him at Chelsea, wasn't it? Albeit he came as a big potential and highly versatile full-back from Bundesliga back in 2015, Abdul Rahman Baba never got the real opportunity with the Blues.

The Ghanaian defender even had a promising first season, but when Antonio Conte took charge of the Blues, the Italian gaffer told him it would be wiser to try his luck on loan. And that's how it all started... One loan, another, the third one... the years were passing, and Baba just couldn't settle. And his playing minutes at Chelsea were not limited but vanished entirely.

And that's probably the reason the 29-year-old has decided the time has come to finally move permanently from West London.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, seven loans and eight years later, he'll be leaving the Londoners by a mutual agreement.

"It's now over for Abdul Rahman Baba at Chelsea. The contract is set to be terminated on mutual agreement, and he's joining Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki.

PAOK will sign Baba as a free agent on a two-year deal until 2025," explained Romano.
