Brighton and Manchester City had a footballing party at the Amex Stadium

Nice goals, all smiles and no losers! Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in their re-arranged Premier League game on Wednesday night.

The hosts secured European qualification and their best-ever league position, while the Cityzens already secured another title. In such a situation - all that was left was to have a good time on the south coast of England.

The jubilant crowd at the Amex Stadium saw one of the season's best goals from their young star Julio Enciso. The Paraguay international hit an unstoppable shot from around 25 meters out and placed it perfectly in the upper left corner to cancel out Phil Foden's opening goal.

Pep Guardiola fielded a strong starting eleven, with all the big guns, presumably deciding against resting his players too much in the run-up to the fervently-awaited UEFA Champions League final on 10 June.

Kaoru Mitoma was so happy to take part in this game that he used his hands to force the ball over the line shortly before the break. The move resembled a rugby essay, but this was no rugby game - so it remained 1-1.

Erling Haaland, who was the unselfish provider for Foden's opener, tried a spectacular acrobatic scissor kick, but it was nowhere near the target. Still, the attempt showed how relaxed the players were and how keen they were to provide some entertainment.

The tempo in the opening 50 or so minutes was truly relentless, but it dipped noticeably as both Roberto De Zerbi and his counterpart made multiple substitutes.

The best goalscorer in the EPL Haaland thought he increased his tally to 37, but he had pulled the shirt of his marker Levi Colwill and VAR was right to deny the goal.

Brighton fans greeted their heroes after the final whistle and thanked them for an incredible season, while Pep and his men have a date with destiny in Istanbul next month.
