The fate of Serie A's best scorer is uncertain, Zielinski at the exit door
Al-Hilal tried to please Napoli twice and failed. The Blue Waves will try again, maybe the third time is the charm. It's just that now they will try in a roundabout way - through the player himself.
The Saudis hope to first convince Victor Osimhen to sign for the club from Riyadh, and the moment they secure an agreement with the player, they will put Aurelio De Laurentiis in front of the fait accompli and thus get the Nigerian, who should represent the final piece in the mosaic for the coming seasons.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Al-Hilal offered the top scorer of Serie A in the last championship a contract that is hard to refuse: 40,000,000 euros per season, for five years. This means that Osimhen could expect to earn 200,000,000 euros if he agrees to cooperate with coach Jorge Jesus and strengthen the team that already includes his former colleague from Napoli, Kalidou Koulibaly, an acquaintance from the Italian top-tier, Sergej Milinković-Savić, as well as Brazilian Malcom and the Portuguese Ruben Neves.
All of them are attracted by great financial conditions, but nobody has what was put in front of Osimhen. On Sunday, information appeared that the former Lille striker would be paid 1,000,000 euros per week, which would be 52,000,000 per year, but Gazzetta assures that the sum is less, which again does not change the impression of how much they want him.
The Arabs have no problem paying, but convincing De Laurentiis to release his gem is a problem. At first, he refused 120,000,000 euros, then 140,000,000 euros, but since the Saudis never give up, it seems that it is only a matter of time before they go over the 150,000,000 euros limit. With a note that they are in a hurry, because the championship there starts already on Friday.
Only next week will the ball kick off in Serie A, however, Napoli do not want to be left without the main attacking option just like that. De Laurentiis will have a big dilemma if an offer worth 150,000,000 euros really arrives, and until that happens, the club boss is working on preparing a new contract to try to keep Osimhen.
I did this interview with Odion Ighalo a few months ago at the Al Hilal’s training centre, on the sofa the president sat on to watch the team train . Ighalo was talking about Osimhen and how very soon a club will price him away from Napoli. Perhaps Al Hilal’s mgt listened ? 😂 pic.twitter.com/m7FA1UQJyZ

Compared to what Al-Hilal offers, the Neapolitans offer 'pocket change', however, the best football is still being played in Europe, there is also the Champions League, certainly a more attractive competition than any in the Middle East. And in order to be competitive in it, Napoli will try to keep the Nigerian. Another question is whether they will succeed, although they is tempted by conditions that no one in the Apennines has.
It is a fixed salary of 8,000,000 euros per year. With bonuses another 1,000,000 until 2027 - of course, if Osimhen agrees. For example, he currently earns 4,500,000 euros per cycle. So, in the best case, if he signs a new contract, he could count on 36,000,000 euros.
One of the points of friction in the new contract proposal concerns the exit clause. Osimhen's agents insist that it does not exceed 110,000,000 euros, while Aurelio de Laurentiis insists on the mentioned 150,000,000. It would also apply to "normal" clubs, which means European clubs, while it would be even higher for those from the Arab world. For the clubs from the Middle East it could go up to double the amount.
While there is uncertainty in the case of Osimhen, it seems that Napoli are getting prepared for the life without Piotr Zielinski. An offer from Saudi Arabia, but from Al-Ahly, worth 15,000,000 euros in compensation came for the Polish national team player. The Italians demand 25,000,000, which means that the differences are not insurmountable and the media in the Apennines assures that the chances of realizing the job are around 70 percent.
