Newcastle are not completely against the sale of Bruno Guimaraes due to Financial Fair Play issues, and for the Parisians, the deal could be facilitated by the possibility of paying compensation in three installments

Two Brazilians have already been "caught" by Paris Saint-Germain, both of them representing a pledge for the future. The arrival of the third one they picked this January would be a massive one, a reinforcement ready to make a difference on the field immediately, but also a boom in the football market. A boom that the foreign media did not announce could happen during the winter transfer window.

The Parisian club could seriously shake up the market in the next three and a half weeks if they implement an ambitious plan, which includes the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes at Parc des Princes.

The reliable Brazilian journalist Marcelo Behler, writing for the local TNT Sport, states that the Parisians have a clear intention to hire the Newcastle midfielder by the end of the January transfer window. The media in France announced a relatively peaceful transfer window in Paris and assured that after the arrivals of Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo, PSG could withdraw from the market, but it seems that the foot injury discovered in the latter forced the leaders of the French champion to change their plans.

Guimaraes was on the radar of the Parisians even earlier, when he played for Lyon, but last winter he was snatched by Newcastle for a little more than 40,000,000 euros. A year later, it seems, the French club would correct the mistake, only that they will have to pay dearly for it, almost three times more! Behler reminds that Guimaraes has a buyout clause worth 116,000,000 euros in his contract with the English club, but adds that the possibility of paying compensation in three installments would make Paris Saint-Germain's job easier.

Although the 26-year-old midfielder is one of the most reliable in Eddie Howe's team, Newcastle ended their European odyssey already in the group stage, and there are fewer and fewer chances that they will play in the Champions League next season, which would be a serious blow for a club that in the past spent nearly 450,000,000 euros during the four transitional periods. Financial Fair Play is allegedly already breathing down their neck, and therefore at St.James' Park, Behler writes, they would not be completely against the sale. Whether it will happen depends on the desire of the footballer himself to leave Newcastle, with which, as he himself pointed out on several occasions, he quickly connected.

Eddie Howe also talked about the rumors that Guimaraes could leave his team at today's conference.

"We want to keep him. When we talk about our best players, it is clear that we want to keep them at the club as long as possible and that will certainly be our goal," said the English expert.

Of Newcastle's 29 games in all competitions, Guimaraes has missed just one, and that was through suspension, which speaks volumes for how important he is to the Magpies, which has made him a regular on the rosters of the Brazilian national team, for whom he has played 18 matches since his debut in 2020.
