When Thiago Silva returned to Brazil in July 2024 at the age of 40, many thought he'd end his rich career in his homeland. Well, they couldn't be more wrong.
After a year-long stint at Fluminense, the former AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea centre-back joined the UEFA Europa League side and the leaders of Liga Portugal, Porto, signing a one-year deal with an option for a further season.

This way, Silva returned to the Dragons' ranks after spending six months with them in 2005. Back then, the 21-year-old prospect didn't get a proper chance, as he was sold to Russian Dinamo Moscow shortly after arriving from Brazilian Juventude.
Interestingly, Silva's manager at Dragao will be the 36-year-old Francesco Farioli, who is five years younger than the experienced defender!
Porto currently top the Portuguese league with an undefeated record and a seven-point edge over their closest followers, Sporting Lisbon, and have conceded just four goals in 17 played rounds. With Silva, their solid defence will be even stronger.
