They've spent, now it's time to sell: Arsenal looking to offload biggest earners

Reading Time: 2min | Thu. 26.08.21. | 15:27

We give you the wage bill of Arsenal players

The end of the transfer window is less then a week, and so far, the biggest spenders in the Premier League have been Arsenal with around 20 billion Ksh. Behind are Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City, and while that might be a bit surprising, the real reason is not – the Gunners have finished last season at the 8th place and need a massive rebuilt. On the other hand, their transfer targets have been criticized so far by various pundits and former players. The club might bring in one or two more players by the end of transfer window, but some players will have to be offloaded.

There are a number of players at the Emirates who could (and should) be sold by September 1st, usually because of the wage bill, since these days the Gunners don't have so much players who could be sold for a big fee.

Willian is on a 29 million Ksh a week, which makes him the second highest earner at the club. The Brazilian was a total failure since arriving from Chelsea and is not in coach Arteta's plans, but so far, only his native club Corinthians are interested in doing a deal.

Hector Bellerin is the fifth on the list and was the player with most chances of being sold since the beginning of the transfer window, but that hasn't happened yet. And while the Spaniard is in and out of the first team, Sead Kolašinac is a player who is out of the team but still collects 15 million Ksh every week and the Gunners are looking to offload the Bosnian, even if it means paying him out.

(1.18) Tottenham (7.25) Pacos de Ferreira (15.0)

Gunners captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the highest paid player with 53 million a week, and currently, he is not justfying that wage, but it's hard to imagine that the Gunners will sell him just 5 days until the end of the transfer window, without any proper replacement, so it's safe to say he is to stay until June 2022.
