The teenager standing behind Mitro's monstrous season is set to become the new Liverpool playmaker

Scousers were just seconds too late during the latest Deadline Day, but they're not making the same mistake again

Fulham are only a few steps away from the Premier League, and the credit for that mostly goes to Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has scored 38 goals so far. However, football is not an individual sport and what makes one individual stand out in the crowd is a consequence of both his skills and teamwork. And among the team, there are a few other impeccable players who provide Mitro with the necessary balls and chances to score.

The one we're talking about here is precisely Fabio Carvalho. The 19-year-old Portuguese teenager has been immaculate since the start of the season, and Mitrovic's sensational output would be impossible without this boy's firepower supply.

Seven assists and the exact same number of goals scored have ideally confirmed Carvalho's versatility, which attracted Liverpool's attention months ago.

And they tried to snatch him as recently as January, but they were just minutes too late during the Deadline Day, so he stayed at Craven Cottage.

At least, for now. But according to the British press, Jurgen Klopp is unwilling to make the same mistake again, and we'll make sure Carvalho becomes the Reds' new playmaker the moment the new transfer window begins.

The fact he's only 19 promises the Portuguese is yet to thrive and shine on the big stage and is there a better place on Earth than Anfield to do so?

Reports suggest Carvalho has already undergone a medical with his current club's permission ahead of a transfer which would see Liverpool pay Fulham KSh 751,5 million plus add-ons for a five-year contract.
