The strange case of Christian Pulisic: fever in the morning, miraculous brace in the night

The former Chelsea star came on in the 66th minute, with 2-1 on the scoreboard for Torino. Two goals and ten minutes later, it was 2-3

AC Milan are back at the joint top of the Serie A table after a sensational second-half comeback at Torino (2-3) directed by super-sub Christian Pulisic!

The ex-Chelsea attacking midfielder was in doubt for the game in the first place, as he had a fever on Monday morning.

However, not only did the American player recover on time, but he also rescued his team, which was trailing 2-0 against Torino after only 17 minutes.

Vlasic punished Tomori's handball in the box early on from the spot, before Duvan Zapata netted for the first time this Serie A season for a shocking 2-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes.

The Rossoneri were visibly stunned, unable to handle the pressure imposed by the hosts, with their head coach, Max Allegri, watching the entire match from the stands, as he was sanctioned for the red card in the previous round.

The sleeping giant, however, showed he was still alive in some style - Adrien Rabiot launched a brutal missile from more than 25 yards out to reduce the gap just on time.

Still, the visitors were miles away from the outcome that could make them happy and push back into a two-horse title race with Napoli.

The second half then brought the total comeback on the wings of an amazing Pulisic.

He came on in the 66th minute and found the back of the net with his very first touch with the ball a minute later to level the score, 2-2.

But the best was yet to come...

Ten minutes later, Ricci crossed it from the right, Pulisic ran onto it, hit it on the half-volley with the inside of the left foot from eight yards, and sealed a miraculous comeback and a vital win for wounded Milan.
