Although it was widely talked about and fans were hoping that Griezmann would stay in Madrid, it now seems that won’t be the case
The all-time top scorer in the history of Atlético Madrid, Antoine Griezmann, will travel to the United States to finalize a deal with Orlando City SC. The French star will use the days off granted by Diego Simeone during the international break to arrange the details of his cooperation with the MLS side, reports Marca.

Although he remains a key figure in the team of the Colchoneros, Griezmann traveled to Orlando with the club’s full approval. The Atletico management decided to fully accommodate their long-time first-team player, allowing him to define the terms of what is widely believed to be the last major contract of his career even in the middle of the season.
This move by the Madrid club is being interpreted in Spanish media as a gesture of gratitude for everything Griezmann has given to the club, considering he achieved his greatest successes in the red-and-white shirt and became a symbol of the team.
However, Atletico fans have no reason to worry for the remainder of the spring. According to Marca, the plan is clear — Griezmann will finish the current season in Madrid, with the focus remaining on competing for trophies in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. Only after the end of the campaign, in May, will the Frenchman officially join the Florida-based team.
Antoine has never hidden that it is his dream to crown his career in the United States, and it now seems that all the pieces have fallen into place.
