What the Turin black and whites announced fifteen days ago, they have now fulfilled

Two big scandals rocked Juventus at the end of October. The substance abuse by Paul Pogba and the illegal betting of Nicolo Fagioli have made the Bianconeri's good performances and winning streak in the championship somewhat overshadowed by the controversies surrounding the club. As the French footballer faces a lengthy suspension and a possible maximum punishment of four years of non-playing, there is a high chance that this will mean the end of his career.

Another Juve 'sinner', 22-year-old Nicolo Fagioli was suspended for seven months without playing, since he illegally bet through third parties and unauthorized channels, both on Serie A matches and on lower-ranked duels at the "Boot." The Old Lady announced about fifteen days ago that the club would support Fagioli and somehow forgive his sin. Now, the promise has been fulfilled, since the contract with the guy who has been in the club system since the age of 14 has been extended until 2028.

Fagioli is one of the most talented Italian footballers, he made his debut for the Turin giants' senior team in January 2021 and since then has played 45 games in all competitions, scoring three goals. In the meantime, he made his debut with the national team. The midfielder's previous contract expired in 2026, so according to the new one, he will stay at the club for two years longer.

As Fagioli's seven-month ban began to run on October 19, he will spend practically the rest of the season off the field. The guy born in Piacenza was lucky when it came to repercussions for his 'sin', taking into account the first-instance verdict, according to which he should have been out of the field for 12 months. As he agreed to enter a gambling addiction treatment program, his sentence was reduced by 40 percent.
