It seems Antoine Griezmann has put an end to all speculation about the next chapter of his career

Antoine Griezmann has finally addressed the swirling speculation over his future at Atletico Madrid, quelling rumors linking him to MLS side Orlando City. After a standout performance in the Champions League against Tottenham, the 34-year-old made it clear where his focus currently lies.

Last night, Griezmann starred at the Metropolitano, scoring a goal and providing a key assist to help Atletico secure a commanding 5–2 first-leg victory over Tottenham in the round of 16.

Following his impressive display, the veteran forward spoke to Movistar and directly addressed questions about his potential move abroad: “I’m really good here, enjoying myself a lot. What I do on the pitch speaks for me by itself. We’ll see but the idea is to stay until the end, and then others can speak.”

His comments appear to end Orlando City’s immediate hopes of securing the World Cup winner this MLS transfer window. The American club had been actively pursuing him, with sporting director Ricardo Moreira reportedly traveling to Spain multiple times to discuss a deal.

However, Atletico’s sporting director Mateu Alemany has already confirmed that Griezmann remains committed to the club, where his contract runs until June 2027.

According to The Athletic, Orlando City have acknowledged a move is unlikely at this stage, though they retain the player’s discovery rights and may revisit the situation during the summer transfer window starting July 13.

A major factor in Griezmann’s decision is the approaching Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad on April 18. Having missed out on Atletico’s 2021 La Liga triumph during his time at Barcelona, the forward is determined to capture a major trophy in what could be the closing chapter of his European career. Asked if he would stay for the final, he was resolute: “That’s my dream and my objective, to hopefully we can achieve something big.”
