The definition of a team: Inter's 21/21

Each of the Nerazzurri's 21 outfield regular first-team players who made appearances in the Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana and Champions League in the ongoing season scored at least one goal

How would you define a sports team? It's easy, right? A group of individuals playing a sport together. But that's the briefest possible definition. There's much more to it.

It's a group of players who have each other's backs, know their role, try to play it as perfectly as possible, and contribute in the best way they can. In the case of Inter Milan, they contributed with goals, as the Nerazzurri gave us a glaring example of a team.

Namely, each of 21 Inter outfield players - excluding Tajon Buchanan (loaned to Villarreal) and youth team members, who clocked 130 minutes in total - who made appearances in Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, and Champions League in the ongoing season scored at least one goal!

The last to add his name on the scoresheet was Nicola Zalewski, who opened the scoring against Torino two days ago, thus joining Joaquin Correa, Alessandro Bastoni, Benjamin Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the group of players who netted once.

The most efficient were - of course - the strikers Lautaro Martinez (22) and Marcus Thuram (18), but also the midfielder and penalty-taker Hakan Calhanoglu (11) and - surprisingly - the wing-back Denzel Dumfries (10).

These four players are the only Nerazzurri's double-digit scorers - although Inter netted 110 goals this season - which illustrates how balanced their squad is and proves that Simone Inzaghi indeed relies on the team above all and not on individuals.
