It has been one of the craziest games of the opening few rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. A genuine seven-goal thriller, a crazy rollercoaster and a classy act in the end for the win at the hands of one of the best footballers in the world.
Kevin de Bruyne netted near the end to secure a dramatic 4-3 home victory for Belgium against Wales in Brussels, in a game that would be remembered for quite some time.

After a disappointing 1-1 draw in North Macedonia, the Red Devils were desperate for a win, which was obvious straight from the start as they rushed to an impressive 3-0 lead within the opening 27 minutes.
Romelu Lukaku broke the deadlock from the spot before Youri Tielemans finished it smoothly to double the lead. When Manchester City's Jeremy Doku fired it into the bottom corner for the third, we thought the match was wrapped up even before the half-hour mark.
Alas, Craig Bellamy's side had other plans...
They bounced back brilliantly, as Harry Wilson netted from the spot in the dying seconds of the first half for a glimmer of hope.

Sorba Thomas joined after the break with his first-ever international goal. Tottenham's Brennan Johnson headed in an equaliser to seal the remarkable comeback.
Still, it was not over yet, and even Lukaku scored again, but this one was rightfully disallowed after a VAR consultancy.
However, there was no salvation for Wales from De Bruyne. Two minutes from the time, he appeared unmarked on the back post to score for a massive win, which could prove crucial in Belgium's quest for World Cup qualification.
