Jose Luis Mendilibar doesn't fall for the Special One's kind words ahead of tonight's skirmish

"Regarding experience, the only thing is that I have had more opportunities to play in Europe, but we are talking about two coaches who have the same years of experience, we both have grey hair."

That was a charming, curved ball old mastermind Jose Mourinho, 60, sent to Sevilla's half in days ahead of tonight's UEFA Europa League showdown. But Mou got his ball back in a somewhat similar style from his rival, Sevilla's boss Jose Luis Mendilibar.

Talking about the crucial match of the season for both teams, the experienced Spaniard, 62, played along, emphasizing the qualities of their rival, both on the pitch and in the dugout.

"We both deserve the final. Both will give everything to win. At a time like this, the budget doesn't matter. We must not make mistakes, we will try to make as few as possible.

"He (Mourinho) had grey hair before me. History does not play, but neither will good words towards the opponent. We have beaten great teams, and our approach in Budapest will be the same. We will see who will win."

He was not interested in Mourinho's suggestion that Sevilla are the favourites.

"It doesn't matter, I don't think about it. Sure, it's important for the bookmakers, but this small advantage doesn't translate on the pitch."

Mendilibar also gave his thoughts on Roma's squad.

"They have no problem defending while we want to attack. They know how to play in both halves of the pitch. Roma are tough. They're not a nervous team as the minutes go by. We should be calm too."

Finally, Mendilibar touched on Sevilla's approach against the Giallorossi and if it'll be different to their previous games.

"Roma have nothing to do with Manchester United and Juventus. They are all strong, but Roma are different. We will try to beat this opponent. Without losing possession of the ball we might have chances to win the game."
