The call of Old Trafford! Rayo's biggest trip of the season is in pre-season

Manchester United are entering the new season with renewed optimism. A new coach, revamped squad and a strong desire to get back into the top of the Premier League table will keep the fans excited - at least until they suffer the next disappointment. What they don't care about too much is their pre-season programme. But their opponents do care.

United's final pre-season friendly and the only one to be played at their home stadium will be the match against La Liga club Rayo Vallecano. And if you ask the passionate Spanish fans - this is going to be their favourite away day of the season.

There is a big initiative afoot among the Rayistas urging the club from Vallekas' supporters to travel to England and create a memorable atmosphere at Old Trafford on 31 July.

Spanish fans have started to buy tickets as soon as the two clubs confirmed the fixture. One of the supporters' groups is urging everyone to get tickets in the same sector so that they would watch the game together and cheer for their beloved team.

There are two Rayo players who will be returning to their old stomping ground. Giant winger Bebe, who was once famously signed by Sir Alex Ferguson and veteran Colombian striker Radamel Falcao will face their old team - unless they should move on in the meantime, of course!

Manchester United will face old rivals Liverpool in Bangkok on 12 July before heading to Australia to take on Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa before returning to Europe. It's followed by a clash with Atletico in Oslo on 30 July and the one against Rayo a day later.
