According to the club, "his recovery will dictate his return"

Tragedy or agony. Whatever you call it, you'll be right.

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele - who has just returned from a five-month-long absence due to an injury - is sidelined again for the same reason.

The Frenchman has faced another woeful scenario after spending only 25 minutes on the pitch in Barca's 1-0 Champions League victory over Dynamo Kiyv on Tuesday.

"The first team player Ousmane Dembele has a strain in the semimembranosus muscle of his left hamstring. He is unavailable for selection, and his recovery will dictate his return," the club announced on Thursday.

Before the Dynamo tie, Dembele's last appearance for the Blaugrana was in mid-May against Eibar in the La Liga.

His current contract will expire in 2022, and he is free to speak with clubs outside of Spain from January, with the option to sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of a summer move.

Barcelona want to keep hold of the 2018 World Cup winner and are pushing for him to renew his contract.

However, the Spanish side could face difficulty in keeping hold of Dembele amid the La Liga club's financial crisis.
