Terzic remains Borussia coach until 2024

Apparently, the club's executives believe that bad results are due to the player's form and not the coach

Although Edin Terzić allowed the deja-vu game against Mainz (again 1-1 at home), the Borussia Dortmund coach is all but certain to survive the December/January vacation and remain in his position.  After four games in a row without a win, no one even dreams of fighting for the title anymore. Even the place in the Champions League is in question, but the club's management, led by Hans Joachim Watzke and Sebastian Kehl believes that the problem is not with the coach?!

Bild writes that after the match with Mainz (1:1), the CEO and sports director stayed at the stadium for a long time, drinking red wine and discussing what they should do. Allegedly, they left Westfalen only at 00:24 without a decision on the change of coach. Obviously, Oliver Glazner, Urs Fischer, Ralph Hasenhüttl, Hansi Flick, Stefan Kunz, Stefan Baumgart hoped to get the phone call from the German giants, but Terzić again survived.

The same source states that a new meeting between Watzke and Kehl will follow by the end of the year, this time in the presence of advisor Matthias Sammer, after which a decision should definitely be made that Edin Terzić remains on the bench in the second part of the season. The faith that Watzke has in the long-time servant of the club is unrealistically big. Even when the players were complaining about the coach, the Dortmund CEO remained solid as a rock. He believes that the recent poor results are mainly due to the players' performances and not Terzić’s management. Until this season, the fairy tale of the fan in the south stand who became the coach of his favourite team and inspired everyone around him was great and sounded great. But after all these results, the magic is definitely over. Media reports are also mentioning the ‘cracks’ in the dressing room between Terzić and one part of the squad led by Marco Reus, so this story will not go away that easily.
