The defender picked the injury during pre-season
Tusker centre back Tom Teka is itching for playing time after shaking off a knee injury that saw him miss the opening four rounds of the new FKFPL season.
Teka, picked the injury while in action against Tanzanian Premier League side Coastal Union in a pre-season friendly match played in August in Moshi.
Tusker fell 1-0 and on top of that, lost Teka who was starter in the second leg of the past season and would go on to start the season without his services.
The injury also saw the former national U20 defender miss the final phase of the pre-season activities.
Teka who resumed training last week says he is fit enough to fight for playing time heading to round five of the season.
"I am glad to have recovered. I haven't experienced pain in the training sessions I have had with the rest. I am looking forward to fighting for the team in league matches," he told Mozzart Sport.
The former Nzoia Sugar player has his work cut out as Tusker boasts of depth in the central defence.
Coach Robert Matano has been pairing skipper Charles Momanyi and his second assistant Michael Kibwage at the heart of the defence.
However, the tactician had to pair Kibwage with former captain Eugene Asike in the department in the last game after Momanyi picked an injury in training.
Former Tusker Youth team captain Jimmy Mbugua who can also play as a right back is also bidding for his turn to play in central defence.
"I am aware there is competition for playing time but I am ready to confront it head on," added Teka.
The player joined the brewers last year from Kariobangi Sharks on a two-year long deal.
