The Pole’s future is uncertain – Spain, America, or Saudi Arabia?
Robert Lewandowski’s situation at FC Barcelona is moving closer to a decisive moment, and clarity may arrive sooner rather than later.
The Polish goal machine appears to be rethinking his next step. A destination that once seemed unlikely is now firmly on the table: Saudi Arabia.
As reported by Spanish outlet "AS", Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi is expected to sit down with officials from the Saudi Pro League in the coming weeks. A move lasting at least two seasons is viewed as both realistic and enormously lucrative for the striker.

While MLS side Chicago Fire have also expressed interest, their proposal reportedly pales in comparison to the financial power coming from Saudi Arabia.
Lewandowski’s deal with Barcelona runs out at the end of the current season, making his future one of the hottest topics around the club. Although Barca technically hold an option to extend his contract by another year, that scenario currently appears improbable.
Publicly, the striker is showing no signs of urgency. Ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League clash in Bruges, he stated: "I'm in no hurry to make a decision."
For a long time, Lewandowski made it clear that his priority was competing at the very top level, which effectively ruled out Saudi Arabia. That stance now seems to be softening. All indications suggest that his time at Barcelona is nearing its end. His influence has waned this season, with Ferran Torres increasingly favored as the central striker and now widely regarded as the club’s first-choice option.
Fitness issues have also played a role. The former Bayern Munich star suffered injuries during pre-season and again in October while on international duty with Poland, causing him to miss several matches.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Lewandowski and Zahavi met Chicago Fire sporting director Gregg Berhalter in Barcelona two weeks ago, a meeting later backed up by confirmation from the BBC regarding the MLS club’s interest.
From Barcelona’s perspective, patience is key. The club is awaiting Lewandowski’s final call, determined to show respect to a player who has conducted himself professionally throughout his four years at the Camp Nou, while also planning for the future. That planning already includes talks over a potential contract extension for Ferran Torres and the parallel pursuit of a new elite striker.
All signs point toward an exit. What remains undecided is the destination: a lucrative chapter in Saudi Arabia, or one final European challenge before the curtain falls.
