
Suspended ‘Marcelo’ misses AIK’s win as Toby earns recognition in US

Marcelo missed his first game of the season while Tobias Otieno picked a place in the Team of the Week.
Kenyan international Eric Marcelo Ouma missed the 1-0 win over Sirius in the Swedish Allsvenskan after an accumulation of three yellow cards while Tobias Otieno was included in the United Soccer League (USL) League One Team of the Week.

The former Gor Mahia wingback possessed an impeccable record of playing every single minute of the season but sat out of the win over Sirius due to suspension.
Marcelo picked up his yellow cards of the season against Malmo FF, Orebro and the local derby against table-toppers Djurgarden last time out, a match they emerged 1-0 victors.

After serving the suspension, Marcelo will be back to take on Ragsveds on Thursday in the league as they aim to reclaim the title they won back in 2018. AIK now trail Djurgarden by three points.
Bojan Radulovic nodded in a header in the 88th minute to claim all three points after a pinpoint cross from Erik Ring as AIK held on for the vital win.

Former Gor Mahia midfielder Tobias Otieno was included in the United Soccer League (USL) League One Team of the Week after his scintillating performance for Union Omaha against Tucson on Sunday.

An own goal from Mohamed Kone handed Union Omaha the lead in the 19th minute as they held on to the lead to pick maximum points to fasten their grip at the summit of the league.
Otieno’s teammate and Ghanian midfielder Rashid Nuhu was also included in the Team of the Week to cap off a brilliant weekend for Union Omaha.
