The former Gor Mahia wingback possessed an impeccable record of playing every single minute of the season but sat out of the win over Sirius due to suspension.

Marcelo picked up his yellow cards of the season against Malmo FF, Orebro and the local derby against table-toppers Djurgarden last time out, a match they emerged 1-0 victors.

After serving the suspension, Marcelo will be back to take on Ragsveds on Thursday in the league as they aim to reclaim the title they won back in 2018. AIK now trail Djurgarden by three points.

Bojan Radulovic nodded in a header in the 88th minute to claim all three points after a pinpoint cross from Erik Ring as AIK held on for the vital win.
