An increasing number of Brazilian stars are pleading with Neymar to return to Brazil

Can you imagine the euphoria among Santos fans if Neymar were to return? In fact, it wouldn’t just be limited to the fans of that club—it would spread across the seventh most populous country in the world. That this is not just idle talk can be seen in the growing number of Brazilian footballers who, sensing that Neymar needs this, are increasingly advising him that the right move for him—and for Brazilian football—would be to return to the club that launched him onto the global stage.

As is already known, Neymar has not played since November last year due to an injury and was not even listed in the squad for the second half of the season in the Saudi league. To make matters worse, Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus made a comment stating that Neymar can no longer play at the level we are accustomed to seeing from him.

Perhaps this prompted the aforementioned footballers to come to the defense of their Brazilian colleague, notably including players from the two biggest clubs in Spain—Raphinha and Vinicius Junior.

The forward of the reigning European champions stated that such a move would be significant for Neymar, as it would allow him to bring his career and game back to the desired level.

"For Brazil it is important to have a player like Neymar, even more so at Santos, which is his home, where he played so many games. He is our idol and we hope he can return to play as soon as possible," Vinícius said.

On the other hand, Raphinha's wishes were no different from those of the two-time scorer for Real Madrid in the victory over Salzburg.

"I think him returning to compete at a high level, and in my opinion the Brazilian [league] is at a high level, will be good not only for him, but for everyone. I think a player like him can never stand still, not be active" Raphinha concluded.

Neymar, the all-time leading scorer for the Brazilian national team, has scored one goal in seven appearances for Al-Hilal since joining the club in August 2023.
