Strasbourg's kindergarten was on the verge of conquering Parc des Princes, but PSG prevail

The minnows were 3-1 up against the Champions League and Ligue 1 winners, but had to settle for a draw in the end

Zero respect for the Champions League and Ligue 1 holders! And that's how it should be...

A young and potent Strasbourg side was inches away from shockingly defeating Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes on Friday. Still, injury-crippled PSG somehow prevailed, and will be more than happy with a hard-fought 3-3 draw after all.

After opening the score, the Saints conceded three goals for the first time at their ground in 2025, before saving their dignity thanks to Gonzalo Ramos' and Senny Mayulu's late goals.

After 35 games, the French minnows still haven't won at the iconic venue, losing 27 times and grabbing eight draws. This last one was more memorable than any other.

Especially if we consider that, except for the former Chelsea full-back Ben Chillwell, the rest of Liam Rosenior's team are mostly teenagers.

Bradley Barcola broke the deadlock after only eight minutes, as Strasbourg seemed confused, struggling to find the necessary composure against the favourites.

However, things changed promptly, with Strasbourg's offensive axis, Diego Moreira and Joaquin Panichelli, putting on quite a show to punish the giants for not paying enough respect to their name.

The latter levelled the score before the 21-year-old Belgian midfielder of African origins finished it smoothly for a total comeback and Strasbourg's shocking lead.

Luis Enrique, who watched the entire opening half from the stands once again, couldn't believe his own eyes. They underestimated their rival, and the punishment was fierce and almost instant.

Just four minutes into the second half, the visiting side made it 3-1 through Panichelli, getting on the verge of a historic triumph. It's such a shame they were unable to hold onto that two-goal lead, succumbing to fear faced with a renowned opponent.

The pressure kept mounting on their shoulders, as Les Parisiens did their best without several injured players (including Ousmane Dembele) to avoid the tragic outcome.

Desire Doue was taken down in the rival's box for a deserved penalty, which Ramos converted to peg one back. There was enough time left on the clock for another, coming from PSG's wonderboy Mayulu. The 19-year-old teenager, one of the nominees for the Golden Boy award, headed it home after back-to-back attempts, first with his foot and then with his head.

Liam Rosenior's men were with their backs to the wall at that point, but they still managed to show a desire to prove their class and grab a win. Panichelli was so close to scoring a hat-trick, but his header was slightly off.

It stayed 3-3 on the scoreboard, as Strasbourg clinched their first draw at the French capital after 2019 and Les Parisiens stay on top for at least next 24 hours.
