Strasbourg stun newly crowned PSG as Arsenal are stuck in their head

Les Parisiens are thinking about the Champions League semi-final, that's blatantly clear. And Ligue 1 sides are making the most of that new setup

If there's such thing as a perfect time to face Paris Saint-Germain, then it was definitely this weekend between two of their Champions League battles against Arsenal.

And Strasbourg made sure to make the most of it. One of the most entertaining Ligue 1 sides defeated PSG 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to climb to fourth place on the table and on the verge of the UCL qualification.

This is the second league loss in a row for the newly crowned Luis Enrique's team, which shows how concentrated they are on the Champions League while slacking in the domestic competition.

Strasbourg wrapped up the tie before the half-time interval with two goals: Hernandez's own goal and Lemarechal's deep in the stoppage time.

Vitinha and Khvicha, two of Les Parisiens' most valuable players, rested today, along with many other regulars, which tells you quite a lot about the Saints' approach.

Still, the Spanish boss made a couple of changes for the second half, resulting in a quick response as Bradley Barcola pulled one back shortly after the restart.

However, the visitors couldn't get one more past Chelsea's loanee Djordje Petrovic, who has had a sublime season at Strasbourg and should be considered a top contender for the return to Stamford Bridge next season.

On the other hand, PSG are now shifting their entire focus to the return leg against Arsenal, which could send them to the Champions League showdown and put them on the brink of eternal fame.
