Stop it, man, you've already deserved a red card!

As if he wanted to be sure he'd be sent off, a player of German second-tier Darmstadt, Fabian Nurnberger, made a series of misconducts one after another, which earned him an eight-game suspension!

Football has provided us with countless odd situations, some of which have involved red cards. Players were sent off for inappropriate celebrations or defending themselves from pitch invaders, Eden Hazard once kicked a ballboy, Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs received a red instead of his teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain due to a ref's mix-up, while the Croatian Josip Simunic was booked three times before being shown a red at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

As for more recent examples, Southampton captain Jack Stephens was sent off for pulling Marc Cucurella's hair against Chelsea a few months ago, while Liverpool boss Arne Slot was awarded a red for "an aggressive handshake" with the ref Michael Oliver only two days ago.

Still, what happened in the German second flight, Bundesliga 2, has probably never been seen, as Darmstadt's left-back Fabian Nurnberger made a series of misconducts against Elversberg - three to be precise - for which he was, naturally, sent off and earned himself an eight-game suspension (?!), though five matches will be served immediately, while the remaining three will be games chosen by the club during one year span.

Nurnberger first made a violent tackle on the rivals' Elias Baum, kicking him from behind, for which the Elversberg player was forced to leave the pitch. However, as if that wasn't enough, Nurnberger grabbed Baum's teammate Maximilian Rohr by the neck and slapped him in the face?!

Yet, he didn't jeopardize his team's "success" in the game, as Darmstadt had already been 3-0 down when the series of incidents happened. However, the Lilies' squad might be weakened by his absence, as he'll be able to return to the team only on March 28 against Ulm.
